October 2, 2009     Far, Far Away

sometimes

far, far, away

where this moment becomes yesterday

mind traces fragmented paths

gates unopened, hopes abandoned

spilled over cliffs along torturous way

thoughts

born of single images

become boulders

crouching into rapids

damming passionate rivers

passage always forbidden

remembrances

infuse fragrances

roses at dawn's moment

dreams touch tongue

bringing forgotten taste

kiss alive with honey spiced tea

silenced ears gather songs

no longer sung

melodies haunting then gone

harp guitar cello unstrung

wind chimes ringing summer's death

church bell knelling week undone

heartbeat softens

breath almost unfelt

eyes only see far, far away

life lingers

savored

bathed within golden aura

soul awaits freedom

when body's work is done
