liquid steel burnished

incredible energy

polishes water's flow

satin mirror reflects forest velvet

sky pastels dimming

ocean calling

riverine song tugging puffing

each reflected eddy

each hesitant longing thought

every breath ceaseless prayer

dear Creator wash over me

carry me out to primal sea

bathe my heart

in liquid steel burnished

so I may worship thee

with incredible energy

while my soul

goes where my heart wants to be

even in slow closing of my years

aware in last light of autumn day
