Facing West     April 21, 2011    

 

facing west

loneliness profound

robs even bluebird

takes his song away

soon sun will surrender

light

granting dark

temporary stay

heart longs plaintive

to turn around

to face brightening day

but Master Birder walks away

walks to where colors

all, all are gray

if only I could sing

sing my friend back

back into bright new day
