Anthocyanins     October 21, 2009

summer has drifted

through history's horizon

autumn brings peace

spring is not prime dreaming time

no

visions come wrapped boldly

etched in anthocyanins

leafy stain

bringing vibrant reds to sight

October's bone-warming days

dancing counterpoint to frosty nights

give soul respite

air coldly cleansed

sweat stained strife gone

breath shivers deep inside warm lungs

body cradled within sun's song

drowses

remembering labors long past

kens bitter winter to come

yet

oh yet

heart sighs

warm in autumn's arms
