Language Silken     February 24, 2010

try as we may

to name creation’s beauty

gathering words plentiful

adjectives sprinkled about

splendid or simple

consonants marching

vowels singing

syllables shoulder to shoulder

accents falling where they may

all those letters

spelling

perhaps

Christmas Cactus

but wait

glancing at calendar

I am amazed

this is dark

wintery February

even Epiphany has passed

window silently frames

landscape barren

whilst cold cold pane

becomes punctuated, graced

gently exclamation marked

bloom flaunts skirts silken

fuchsia tongue whispers

delightfully

creation is unexpected
